Dave De Meulder

Dave De Meulder is a Software and Cyber Security Staff Engineer at Aries Aero Systems and an ODA Unit Member with software approval authority across all Development Assurance Levels (A through D). He brings more than two decades of airborne systems and software certification experience spanning OEM, supplier, and delegated-authority roles.

Before joining Aries, Dave served as Software & Cyber Security Senior Technical Expert at Honda Aircraft Company, where he was primary Software DER for all HACI programs and owned the company's software development, integration, and verification processes as well as its airworthiness security program. Prior to that he was Principal Engineer for software and cyber security at Aerion, leading the IMA platform architecture and serving as technical lead for the Boomless Cruise function. At Gulfstream, he held ODA Authorized Representative authority for software across all system areas, served as Aircraft Cyber Security Technical Focal — defining the security perimeter, risk assessment methodology, and test program used across the Gulfstream fleet — and held system-level responsibility for the Data Concentration Network. Earlier roles at GE Aviation (Boeing 787 RDC) and Airbus UK (A380 fuel system and flight warning) grounded his work in supplier-side development and aircraft-level integration. Dave's technical depth covers DO-178B/C with supplements DO-330, DO-331, DO-332 and DO-333; DO-254; ARP4754A; and the airworthiness security standards DO-326A, DO-355 and DO-356A, along with NIST methodology. He specializes in IMA module configuration, avionics data networks (AFDX, ARINC, discrete), and SOI planning and audit execution.

He holds a Diplôme d'Ingénieur from ENSICA (Toulouse) and an MEng in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Manchester. He is fluent in English and French.
